I’ve always been a storyteller. As a young child, before I knew how to write letters and words, I would fill pages and pages of notebooks and loose leaf with scribbles that only I could decipher. What were those scribbles? Stories. And I’d tell them to anyone who asked.
Fast-forward to the start of my career, and I was leaning into storytelling 100% as a professional journalist working at lifestyle magazines like Essence, Food Network, and Brides.
But then I got the entrepreneurship bug. I ditched magazines to join a fellowship and work at a startup where I was employee #1, working side-by-side with the founder. It was scary and exhilarating and taught me a LOT. In fact, I was building my own company at the same time.
I left that startup job, went full-time on the business I share with my now-husband and haven’t looked back since.
Two pivots, countless customers, 5 team members, 2 accelerators, and hundreds of thousands of dollars (revenue & raised) later, I’m combining my storytelling training with the fruits of my startup labor.
Through workshops, resources, and live consulting sessions, I’m sharing all the nuggets I wish I knew when I first broke into startups.
Why? I want other early-stage founders to have a shorter learning curve than I did. This is a safe startup space. The only bad question is the one you don’t ask. You’re never too early-stage to learn something impactful. And everything you read & hear will be candid.
I’m glad you’re here. Let’s build together.
